Viktor Bychkov voted Head of PBL Board
On Saturday, September 1, BC Khimki genereal director Viktor Bychkov has been voted the Head of the Board of the Professioanl Basketball League, succeeding Andrey Vatutin at this position.
Bychkov was elected by the majority of the votes. Lokomotiv-Kuban president Andrey Vedishchev and BC Nizhny Novgorod general manager Sergey Panov have been chosen as the co-chairs of the League.
"First of all I'd like to thank all the clubs for the trust in me. On behalf of all the clubs I also want to thank Andrey Vatutin for the colossal work he's done. In two years PBL has gone all the way from its birth to the competition of the highest level. The past two championships were the most interesting in the Russian history", Bychkov said.
"On of our main goals for the upcoming season is to host two championships: the main one and the youth one. The title of Russian champions hsouldn't be devalued, even if european cups places are being played for in the other competition. We're ready to cooperate RBF, VTB United League in order to find the vector of developement of the Russian championship", he added.
Andrey Vatutin also thanked the clubs for the past work.
"I want to thank the heads of all the clubs for this 2-year work. These two years have interesting for me. We had an agreement that there will be a rotation at this position. Thefore we're electing a new Head today", Vatutin said.
"We have done a lot. The past two championships were the most interesting one in the Russian history", he added.
